Current Issue

Overall, 2009 housing starts for the Pittsburgh market are expected to be down about 25% compared with 2008. Perhaps some good news is the fact that September and October 2009 has shown increased demand over the same months in 2008. A few more positive months will be needed to determine if this is a temporary, stimulus driven anomaly or the start of a new positive trend (let’s keep our fingers crossed!).

To help keep you better informed, we have continued to expand our editorial content with this goal in mind. Before you buy, build or remodel a home, Greater Pittsburgh’s NEW HOME is required reading. We hope to help you create the home that meets your personal dreams, goals and needs.

This edition of NEW HOME presents Heartland Homes, the second largest homebuilder in our region as well as financial incentives for homeowners to reduce energy consumption and an in-depth look at development in Washington County. Enjoy!
